Language

Cross-cultural living (over 10 years in Japan) enabled Barbara not only to speak, read, and write fluently in Japanese, but enhanced her appreciation and respect for all cultures.  If you are from another country than America, Barbara works especially hard to help you feel welcome and understood, knowing that each culture has different, yet equally valid ways of living and learning as American ways.

She has taken special classes for teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL), as well as classes in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).  She also teaches Japanese to beginner and intermediate levels to any age.

Testimonials

I really appreciate Ms. Barbara for teaching me and helping my English improve.
Also, she cares and helped me on CSAP.  I believe that this is why I got a better grade on CSAP and my homework.  She taught me things like
grammar and usage until I understood.  She is a very intelligent and nice teacher.  I am glad and thankful that I had her classes in my life.

Barbara has helped me with my English and my homework.  She started to teach me form how to write and pronounce the alphabet.  Every time I went to Barbara's house she taught me nice and neatly.  Her English was really easy to understand and she also spoke Japanese so I could understand exactly what she was saying and what she was trying to teach me.  It was very easy to get better at speaking English because she always corrected my English when I made a mistake.  Right now I can catch up with my studies at an American school and I can understand what they are talking about.  I really appreciate Barbara.  Without her, I think I would have had a hard time catching on to English.
